FDT Group Continues Strong Membership Growth in 2008

April 22, 2008

The FDT Group announces the addition of four international companies to the membership of the non-profit organization just since the beginning of this year. New members include: Aplisens (Poland), AUMA (Germany), Petronas (Malaysia), and Technical University Dresden (Germany).

Petronas is the most recent major end user that demonstrates its support for FDT Technology by adding its name and resources to the FDT Group. End users have a strategic role in the group as they ensure that the technology continues to meet the needs of their industry. Together with Chevron, Saudi Aramco and Shell, Petronas represents the interests and requirements of the Oil & Gas industry.

Flavio Tolfo, Managing Director of the FDT Group:

“We are very excited to have Petronas join the FDT Group.  Their membership shows their interest in FDT Technology, making sure that it continues to meet the ever changing needs of Users worldwide,” says Flavio Tolfo, Managing Director of the FDT Group.  “Our plan is to have our membership be a mix of users and suppliers to make certain that we continue to deliver the technology, capability and value that is truly needed in automation today and into the future.”

Membership in the FDT Group is open to all users and suppliers.  Membership information is available at the FDT website: www.fdtgroup.org or email [email protected].

“The additional support of these four companies significantly increases the global presence of the FDT Group, as the new members represent global diversity. This shows that FDT Technology is being increasingly accepted worldwide and that the FDT Group continues to be in an aggressive growth phase.” says Flavio Tolfo, Managing Director of the FDT Group.

This brings the total FDT Group Membership to a record 63 companies representing a significant cross section of the automation industry. Member companies provide DTM’s for their intelligent instruments allowing a protocol and system independent configuration and troubleshooting environment. FDT Technology allows any device to be accessed from any host using any of the major field communication protocols – reducing maintenance cost, maximizing instrumentation capabilities and reducing configuration errors.
