Waseda Univ. IONL Industrial Open-Network Laboratory will be hosting a virtual FDT Seminar on March 11, 2022. This event is co-hosted by FDT Group Japan, FCG Japan, IO-Link Japan and Waseda Univ. Research Institute for Science and Engineering.
The seminar will focus on industry-driven initiatives to provide an open communication environment based on standards-based technology, offering reliable data exchange for device-specific information from field equipment operating in factories and plants to control and higher-level systems. Standards organizations managing open communication/networking technologies include: Fieldcomm Group – managing communication technology mainly for the process industry, IO-Link managing communication technology for the discrete industry, and the FDT Group managing technology for integrating field equipment and communication networks into the system, optimizing visualization, lifecycle and asset management. Control systems must be compatible with these technologies to compete in applications for the new era of automation for IIoT and I4.0 applications.
FDT Group will be showing a demo based on the Unified Communication Environment via a testbed with “GAIA-X”.
Plan to attend this seminar and learn about the latest technology advancements allowing a unified environment for both process and discrete information enabling smart manufacturing.
