However, it is specific to the FDT concept, that DTM and frame application are being developed independently of one another, with the only prerequisite to comply with given interfaces. The interaction can only work, when compliance with these interfaces can be ensured. To this end the FDT Group has established a “test and certification” quality assurance system. Benefits for manufacturers and usersWith proper test specifications, test cases and test tools, the FDT Group offers a comprehensive and systematic test frame for manufacturers. This way you can rely on the fact that all relevant test cases will be covered. This test frame is being enhanced continuously on the basis of the numerous tests that have already been conducted. Additionally, manufacturers can call upon a highly competent team of engineers in the test labs. The certificate is the official acknowledgement for the fulfilment of the FDT specifications and thus an important mark of quality in the market for manufacturers. Users will minimize their implementation effort at start up and during operations, because the certification process guarantees compliance of the frame application and the DTMs with the FDT specification. This saves time and money.
The dtmINSPECTOR is the official DTM test and certification tool of the FDT Group. It checks each type of DTM (communication, device, gateway DTMs etc.) for its conformity with the FDT specification. The FDT Group issues a certificate of conformance for each tested DTM. The dtmINSPECTOR has more functions to support the development of DTMs and the work of quality assurance.
