Suppliers unified for field device integration

To accelerate deployment of the Field Device Integration (FDI) technology, key process automation suppliers agreed to enlarge the scope of the EDDL Cooperation Team and will become the FDI Cooperation.

This cooperation will initially consist of the associations: FDT Group, Fieldbus Foundation, HART Communications Foundation, OPC Foundation and PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation, as well as the companies ABB, Emerson, Endress+Hauser, Honeywell, Invensys, Siemens, and Yokogawa.

Neuer Geschäftsführer und neue Presseverantwortliche

Brüssel, 22. Juni 2009: Der Vorstand der FDT Group teilt mit, dass Flavio Tolfo, der Geschäftsführer der Gruppe in den vergangenen drei Jahren, zum 1. Juli 2009 in den Ruhestand gehen wird. Nach der Gründung der FDT Group im Jahr 2006 in der derzeitigen Organisationsstruktur war Herr Tolfo eine Schlüsselfigur beim Aufbau der FDT Group in ihrer heutigen Form. Wir danken Herrn Tolfo für seinen außerordentlichen Beitrag an der Begründung und weiteren Entwicklung der FDT Group und wünschen ihm alles Gute für seinen neuen Lebensabschnitt.

FDI Project Team Achieves Development Milestones

The Steering Committee of the Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) Cooperation Team (ECT) announces that its technical team has achieved important milestones as it develops a common solution for field device integration (FDI). The FDI project team worked the past 18 months to identify use cases encompassing all facets of plant operations: from start up and commissioning; to ongoing maintenance activities and plant operations.
